Sam asked for non-trolly Trump defenders. He should invite journalist Andrew C. McCarthy onto the podcast.

If Sam wants someone who is going to challenge his conceptions, which he recently said is the basis for his podcast's existence, he should invite Andrew C. McCarthy onto his podcast. While Scott Adams has a large following and is good at tweeting, I don't think Scott Adams would pose the same challenge to Sam as Andrew would.

Here is a recent article: https://amgreatness.com/2017/05/31/the-real-collusion/

Andrew is a columnist for the National Review (which was largely "Never Trump") and a New York attorney. So he has the bonafides Sam likes to see in his podcast guests. If Sam wants to challenge his ideas and believe in true things, McCarthy is great for that for two reasons:

  1. McCarthy has details, not just tweets. Most of his articles are filled to the brim with true arguments that counter Sam's recent claims.
  2. He would be able to articulate these arguments with precision. I've seen Scott Adams in interviews and he's a bit soft-spoken. I think McCarthy, as an attorney, would come prepared with arguments and facts.

According to McCarthy's wiki, he has also prosecuted a number of terrorists, which could be an interesting side conversation should they choose to have it:

Mickey Kaus from the Kaus Files would also be a good guest for defending Trump's policy prescriptions. Mickey is a liberal who went to Harvard Law. He lives in Santa Monica which would be convenient for Sam:
