How did you get started VJing?

I'm not so much interested in equipment, techniques, etc. as I am already on my way with those pieces (although I'm always eager to learn more).

I want to know how you went about getting gigs. Did you partner with a DJ? Did you get connected to the venue? How would you rate demand vs. supply of people who VJ?
