Curiosity and a giveaway!

Hey fellow knife clubbers, this post is getting two birds stoned at once.

First, some of you may remember me recently asking for advice on an EDC blade, which resulted in me purchasing a Lionsteel TRE G10 flipper only model: http://reddit.com/r/knifeclub/comments/68w7g9/nkd_is_always_a_worthy_of_a_good_beer/

This leads to my curiosity. I've been absolutely loving my TRE, it's damn near my perfect EDC knife outside of spending a lot more on way rarer knives. Recently though, I noticed that my blade has become slightly magnetic around the pivot area: https://imgur.com/a/0YQwI

Now, this isn't a huge deal in my mind, because it's barely magnetic; this nail is about the biggest thing I can get to hold its own weight. I'm mostly curious if this is a regular occurrence, and if anybody knows why it happens. Anybody have any input?

I'm thinking that it's a result of flipping it thousands of times since I received the knife, as I know metal on metal friction can induce magnetism. Or, it's from sharpening, but the blade isn't magnetic except around the pivot, so that leads me to believe it's caused by the flipping. Also, if this is a regular occurrence, is there a simple way to remove the magnetism?

Lastly, as some of you may recall from my first couple posts regarding my TRE, I said I would buy a $25 knife for somebody as a reward for finding me an awesome EDC.

So, just comment below that you would like entry to the giveaway, and I'll use a random number generator to pick a winner. Entry will close at 8pm Central tomorrow.

Also, I ask that you please only enter if you're on a budget and could really benefit from a $25 knife. I'll be sending the winner a $25 bladehq (or similar site) gift card, which would be useful to anybody, but I'd like the spirit of this giveaway to be that a newbie or somebody who really needs it is a winner. I'm choosing the gift card route because I'm not that knowledgeable about budget knives, and I'd rather the winner buy a design that they really want, instead of me picking one for them.

Cheers!
