Dex Increases Damage?

By accident, during a stat reset I shift+ clicked all my remaining 350 points into dex instead of vit and my bowazons damage went from (multishot) max dmg 2.1 to 4.7k. I searched over the wiki and did a lot of googling and cannot find this listed anywhere.
