Can we talk about liberalism for a second?

Ya'll I been gone for a min. I'm in college, switched from premed to prelaw after having a 'come to Jesus' moment after the election. I'm black and I'm liberal as hell. But I cannot fucking stand the Bill Mahers of the world.

I feel like there is this really toxic idea on the left that you can intellectualize racism. That you can do some mental gymnastics, pat yourself on the back, and then decide that you are so above racism that can you be an active participant in all aspects of it but you're just being 'ironic' or 'subversive.' I know that black folk (esp. black women) lean hard to the left and so do I. But I grew up in small town Oklahoma, and I'll take in-your-face, ignorant, blatant racism over this patronizing, pseudo-intellectual fecal matter any day.

What do ya'll think? Tbh I didn't give a damn about Bill Maher saying the word, but watching all these 'race is a social construct' defenders surround him has my blood boiling rn.

As a self-identified liberal, I can't pretend that I haven't noticed that the white, liberal, male perspective is the de-facto objective stand point. They apparently cannot be, sexist or homophobic or racist. If you think they are, then you're just being sensitive. Well they can miss me with all that. I'm black all day every day, and racism is racism whether it's coming from Ann Coulter or Bernie Bros.
