School SLP Pay vs. School OT/PT/Pscyh Pay

I recently accepted a job at a great county for my CF. I turned down an opportunity at an Outpatient Rehab facility mostly due to having a 2-year-old and desiring what I consider to be a more family friendly schedule.

Anyhoo, another factor in accepting the school position is that the pay grade for SLPs in this specific county was just changed from teacher pay scale to classified pay scale (on the same level as OTs and PTs). However, I just caught wind that the SLP salary may not change as much as anticipated and that some higher-ups believe that SLPs should not be making as much as OTs/PTs (because they believe that's "how it is elsewhere"). I am considering joining other SLPs in our school district in creating a presentation on what SLPs do and why our pay should be commensurate with the other therapists at the school. Has anyone else been in a similar position? Any advice or referrals to resources would be helpful.

*I realize I misspelled "psych" in the title. #embarrassing
