Roth v Traditional IRA & 401k

Retirement

I'm currently 24 and my company offers both Roth and traditional 401k. When it comes to IRAs, it seems that the general advice is that Roth is exclusively better. (lower taxes now, higher later). However, when i was going over threads regarding 401ks, many people seemed to argue the opposite (when older will stop working less income so lower taxes). Is there something fundamentally different with how IRAs and 401ks work? I understood the logic for Roth IRAs being beneficial so I thought that that same logic would apply to a 401k for me. Thoughts?
