2001 Subaru Forester - I just bled all four brakes to replace the fluid and now, even after pumping the brakes dozens of times, the pedal goes to the floor and the brakes barely work.
EDIT: I did the two man method in the correct order and it worked!
What I did:
1- I hooked up a hose to the bleeder valve and secured it with a zip tie.
2- I angled the hose upward before it curved down (to keep fluid gravitationally against the valve).
3- I curved that hose back down into the bottom of an empty bottle with clean brake fluid on the bottom.
4- I opened the reservoir, and opened the bleeder valve on the first wheel.
5- I slowly pumped the brakes, keeping the reservoir topped off, until clean fluid was coming out of the hose.
This is the same technique I successfully used on my other car recently.
There was a moment where the reservoir may have fully emptied when I was on the first wheel. I topped it off, and kept pumping until that first hose was free of air bubbles and old fluid before I moved to the second wheel. But, it might not have been fully emptied.
Something I just learned is that I did the wheels in the reverse order. I should have started with RR, but I ended with that wheel and started with FL.
What should I do now? Just do it again but in the right order? Or should I try the two person method where the bleeder valve is closed between brake pedal pumps?
Thanks for your help.
