Grandfather got scammed - can anything be done without seeing what happened?

Received a call from my dad that my grandfather was scammed by someone who called him and claimed his computer had a virus. From what I was told, all my grandfather can remember is that he gave them remote access to the computer and that he gave them a check. He claims he is continuing to receive calls from them. Is there any action that I could know to do immediately without seeing the computer physically?
