New user... how do I add resynthesizer to Gimp 2.8.22 on my Mac?

I initially installed Gimp and resynthesizer on my PC and it works perfectly, but I can't seem to do it on the Mac (is it available on the Mac?). Any help appreciated! I also downloaded McGimp (not really sure what's the difference exactly) but when checking the filters menu for enhance - heal selection it isn't there
