My porch doesn't get much direct sun. What can I grow?

I live in Texas (Austin area to be exact) where there is no lack of heat, but my apartment doesn't get much direct sunlight. Awesome for my power bill, not so awesome for my desire to grow something tasty. What herbs or veggies can I grow in a planter in this climate but without much direct sunlight?
