Dog friendly forest near SLC?

I am craving some time in the forest. I'm talking streams, rivers, and tons of tall green trees. Millcreek and Neff's are the only ones that really comes to mind and I'm wanting something new. The Cottonwood Canyons are pretty much on par with what I'm looking for but alas, watershed areas.

Any suggestions? The thicker the forest and away from people the better
