fingerprint and public keys question

I'm noob in this pgp thing, I hope I can get things sorted out...

I've searched in google and reddit and I found out that I cant import a public key from fingerprint, but I can retrieve a public key from a key server by using fingerprint

let's say I want to share my public keys in email or social media, can I just post my fingerprint without sharing my public key or the key server? or vice versa if I see someone's fingerprint posted and I want to import the public key, how am I going to do it?
