Hi. I'm never sure how to start these things, but I just finished grad school and am currently looking for a job, so I'm anxious and lonely probably too much of the time (I'm a teacher, so it's a pretty narrow field with a pretty specific application season). Combine that with the general disaster that is the U.S. government, and I'm always looking for someone new to just talk with.

I love books and writing. I'm hoping to write a book this summer, but I have a tendency to write a few chapters and then stop. I love traveling (though I need a paying job before I do more of it). I studied in London for a year and added quite a few places to my list, but there are so many more I want to see. I cook elaborate meals when I'm stressed and then get annoyed with myself because it means there are too many dishes for me to clean up.

I'd like to use email, as it's quicker and easier, although I might be open to writing letters as well later on. I'm looking for someone from anywhere in the world around my age or a bit older who may have gone through (or is going through) that same pre-employment aimlessness.
