Switching mains is painful

If you ever had to switch mains, you know what I am talking about.

The character you played hundreds, maybe even thousands of hours with is put aside for a new one. :(

I am returning to wow, but from what I have read, my main spec (feral) is absolute trash (not dps-wise, more gameplay wise). I have so many memories with this character and I just cannot bring myself to give him up. - New main would be a fury warrior.

Do you have any experiences with switching mains, if so, how did you manage to do it?
