Could someone educate me.

I've had an astrological interest for awhile now and even got as far as to do the natal chart, but have never quite figured out how to read it. I was wondering if someone could give me a breakdown of what this actually means. I'm 22 trying to work towards the white picket fence dream, you know, wife, kids, a dog or two.
