Cheetah II Mini 22mm RDA review (Purchased and unsponsored)
Hey y'all this is my first review but I noticed that there isn't a lot of focus on the product so I figured I'd give this thing a shot. I had preordered the Cheetah II Mini 22mm RDA and after waiting for shipping got it about a week ago. This is a product I paid for and wanted to give my opinion, some of the pros and cons, and kind of go through my build a bit, as well give my walk through of how I rate it by each experience of the product followed by a TL;DR.
Just as a note the reason I chose to get this RDA is a superficial one, cheetahs are my favorite animals and I thought it looked cool as hell. So for $20 it was worth a shot. When I received the product there was no major reviews on it, so a lot of this was done in the dark. Since I've watched two reviews in order to access a couple things but I'm just focusing on what was familiar for me.
Un-boxing:
So first off the packaging was really great, there's a slide box that made it feel really great to get into, but at the end of the day packaging is only important if the product is good. The RDA came with spare orings, screws, and a really well made mini screwdriver. Unlike my other RDAs the screwdriver had a thick plastic handle and the metal wouldn't bend. It was also properly sized so I didn't worry about stripping my screws.
The machining quality was good no jagged cuts and the metal was thick enough across the board. There was a little machine oil but honestly the least of of any RDA I've dealt with so far. It runs slotted side airflow and the cuts were clean.
The drip tip was nice but honestly the least quality part of the setup. The outside was smooth but I could see some minor debris and flakes deep internally, and given the quality of the rest of the RDA it made me consider getting a custom drip tip for it. Fortunately it's 100% goon compatible.
Finally the orings. Holly molly these things are satisfying, they popped perfectly and had that great snap to them. The orings between the top cap and sleeve were a little tight but between the sleeve and base it was the perfect amount of resistance. Because of the lack of surface area so far the easiest way for me to drip has been by removing the top cap with the drip tip since it fits very snug.
All and all very impressed with the quality for the price.
Quality: 6.5/10 Due to drip tip quality and insulator but I'll get to that in the build
Build:
So the build deck is a two post separated by a peak insulator. There is no sqounk pin or single coil options. For full disclosure my insulator had minor charring (black smudges) on it, but was fully intact and since frequent use has not degraded any. This still may be a turnoff for some but it may have just been my luck as I haven't seen or read about this anywhere else. The top holes are quite large and the post clamps are enormous and easy to use. There's ample room and you can fit massive coils in here (even on the mini) and still have a spectacularly easy time wicking.
The posts are close enough that it's easy to line up your coils, and still have room of the sides to fold your cotton down without having the cotton jettison over the sides due to coils reaching to far across the build deck. This is by far the easiest build I've ever done outside the wasp nano. I used 316L steel staggered fused claptons 3mm wraps (28g/32g)x2/32g. It ohmned in at about .17. I lined my coulda with the top of the coils parallel to the top of the post hole, pulled them out about half way in the deck, and it seems to work perfectly. As I said centering my coils was a cakewalk because the bottom clamps, and the top post holes kept my coils in place while allowing me to fidget and center the coils with ease. The upside was also a very slight downside since the coils would slide on the clamp until tightened but very minor issue. The wicking was literally as easy as could be. Great build experience.
Build/Wick: 9/10 due to sliding coils in clamp (nit picking)
Vape:
This is the whole reason I did the review. The vape is phenomenal, best one I've had by a large margin. The airflow is massive, like a new level massive, so I actually roll the airflow on between 1/3-2/3 open depending on how much vapor I'm feeling. There is little degradation in flavor based on airflow due to the small chamber, and I still get plenty enough air with the airflow 1/3 open so it 100% comes down to preference which is something I thoroughly enjoy. Thick clouds, but holy shit the flavor. It was on another level.
The build also allowed me to get TC with ease on my Therion which great mod but without escribe navigation every other deck I've used had has been had some trouble getting proper readings without work due to a bleh 510 connection, this thing crushed out the box. The only minor thing was spitback, the mini has some spitback when first vaping after letting it cool for a while. Nothing horrendous but it's there, however it's still less than some other RDAs I've dealt with with much larger chambers so it didn't detract any from my experience. Honestly just for the flavor I would recommend this thing above the other RDAs I've tried.
Vape: 8.5/10 due to minor spitback
Overall/TLDR:
I would 100% recommend this product for the price. The build ease and vape are just superb. It looks dope. It's just satisfying as hell to use. The outstanding cons are the minor spitback, drip tip quality, and my peak insulator came with minor char (but no degradation since use) which may be a turnoff for some. The pros by and large out-way the cons for me. I would repurchase this atty again, and may end up getting the full sized dope looking blue one.
Pros: Vape flavor, build ease, aesthetics, 510 connection, air flow
Cons: Minor spitback, drip tip quality/look, insulator (may just be mine)
Overall Score: 8/10 Would personally recommend highly
