The unintentional lies Christians tell
Hello! Do you want to convert an atheist to your religion? Are you open to suggestions? Good!
Now, how do you instantly let an atheist know that you are wrong? Easy! Just tell him something that he knowa for a fact is wrong. How do you do that? I'm glad you asked! One of the ways is to tell him what he thinks.
Let me give you a few examples of how to not be as convincing as you could be. And do feel free to come up with a few suggestions of your own. Perhaps atheists say something which has a similar effect on believers?
- "You choose to go to hell"
- "God has given you every reason/piece of evidence to believe in him"
- "You know that there is a god".
- "Anyone that sincerely prays to god will find proof that he exists"
- "God's existence is self-evident/obvious (Just look at the trees!)"
All of these are variations of "I know what you believe better than you do" and these statements come off as childish in how obviously false they are.
Additions from the thread:
- You're just mad at God.
- You're afraid there might be a power higher than yourself.
- You don't want to give up your sinful lifestyle.
