Looking for Duo Build advice (LTK + EP)

A friend and I have been running S10 together on PS4. We both play Monk primary and found that we really enjoy our duo set up of him running an EP build and myself running a LTK build.

I know there are plenty of good LTK and EP builds out there and we have fantastic solo set ups. However, what we are looking to find is a way to combine these two builds into one super build.

Our play style revolves around me staying safe while he groups with CS and gets a few EP stacks. Once that is accomplished he switches to more of a support role and I dive in with LTK to detonate his EP. I can't help but feel like there's more that I can do to be helpful while he groups and stacks EP and that there's a way that he can do more once we hit the RG. These are our only real down times throughout this duo.

Bonus question: When detonating his EP:ID I assume it's best for me to wait for HIS cold cycle on CoE. Is that correct?
