C'tan Nightbringer Gaze of Death in 8th

In the 7th edition the C'tan Nightbringer's Gaze of Death wasn't considered a shooting attack and could be used on units in combat and used even if Nightbringer was in combat. Would that rule carry over to 8th? The 8th datasheet does not specify if that is the case, so i was just wondering if anyone else heard otherwise.
