Not sure why some people hate on the French Open highlight videos
They just put this up.
I'll admit, when I first saw it, I thought, "A highlight video that's just 2 minutes long? How can they do any part of the match justice?" But, then I saw how they took feedback and worked on it. Comments about how the crowd at French Open is horrible are often heard, so they put some nice soft music. Some cool animations to start the video so you don't have to be bored watching tennis for the entire two minutes. Nice close up shots of the players entering so you know what gear to get. I didn't think they could get highlights of the second set and the third set since they had like 30 seconds left. But, boy, did i underestimate them. Not only did they show an entire point from the 2nd set, they took feedback (right from that r/tennis post a couple of days ago where someone mentioned that they don't show match points) and they EVEN showed match point, thus covering the 3rd set. To go where no highlight reel maker has gone before, they properly showed Murray's ever-expressive face displaying his immense joy at winning the match so that you could realize that the match was done, rather than showing us where the ball landed, which, frankly, is becoming a bit cliche. Wow, that was a long sentence, I wonder if this generation has the time to read all that. I like how the French Open packages its highlights in a 2 minute video considering the limited attention span we can afford. Soon, I hope they will just display it on Snapchat.
And the best part of it all, you feel like with this shitshow of a highlight reel, they fucked you in the ass - which is exactly what it feels like to be there at Roland Garros!
