Is it normal to experience nocturia after a certain age?
I am a healthy 26-year-old male. 6'0'', 170 pounds. No signs of diabetes or anything. I follow a healthy diet and never consume caffeine or alcohol.
Recently, I have been waking up in the middle of the night to urinate. This is odd because I intake no fluids five hours prior to going to bed, I urinate right before sleeping, and my bladder happens to be full again when I wake up in the morning.
This means that holding my urine again won't do any good; my body apparently produces twice as much urine in one night than it did before.
During the daytime, I seem to be urinating more as well. I usually go once every one or two hours, and this seems excessive. I peed in a measuring cup to see how much is coming out, and it's usually about 100 mL every time.
Over a period of 24 hours, I produce about 2000 mL of urine. I sometimes purposely avoid drinking water to avoid peeing, but it doesn't help. Is there something wrong with my body to produce so much urine without drinking a lot of water?
