Sorc builds that do not involve button/ability spam?

Maybe this is kind of a weird question, but I stopped playing a couple months ago after getting my sorc to 160 and getting some gear. I stopped because I hate playing the 'meta' sorc builds. Spamming pulse was literally causing me physical pain. I played both the 'meta' magicka and stam builds at the time and they were both terribly un-fun. I think they were the magicka pulse build and the normal dagger/bow stam aoe spam builds.

So My question is: are there any Sorc builds that do not require button/ability spam to be competitive? I don't need to be top player or get into the best guild. I just want to be able to do solo content and not get flamed in dungeons.
