[?] Soldotna, AK Kenai River salmon & Seward, AK deep sea halibut gear questions for 2nd week of August

Second week of August, I'm doing an all day salmon fishing on the Kenai and then going out in Seward for all day halibut. Temps should be ave low 50s. What clothing should I be wearing for each trip? The halibut boat captain said raingear. What about the river fishing? Should I get waders?
