Coaching situation

First, I have been firmly in the Kinnear Out camp for a LONG time.

That said, here is what I think and hope is happening.

Jesse now clearly sees Kinnear is not the answer to run the team. I do not believe ownership will buy Kinnear out and fire him during the season. The comment has been made that Kinnear is one of the highest paid coaches in MLS. I think that Jesse is already looking at coaching options for next year. I hope he is looking at non MLS options and that the club would sign him even during the summer but not announce anything until the end of the season. I do NOT want any more coaches from the Yallop/Kinnear tree or style. I expect this would mean new assistants and possibly even new coaches at Reno. I would hope Joe Cannon would be safe in Burlingame as he is a great guy and club legend.

I know a bunch of people think teams need an MLS experienced coach to succeed in the league, but I would argue Viera has done well at NYCFC and that the tide is shifting.

I am tired of watching crappy and ineffective soccer. 2012 was great. It was magical. It was probably the most exciting season I will ever see. But it was lightening in a bottle that we will never see again. The league changed drastically right after that season but we are still clinging to the same tactics.

I love this club, but I do not support the current strategy with our coaching staff. It is time to prepare for a better future.
