Just found a cool Ocarina of Time secret.
I doubt I'm the first person to find this, but I googled it and couldn't find anything, so I figured I'd share it here:
If you go into Gerudo Valley by the Spirit Temple, you'll notice some palm-like trees around. If you look closely, each of the trees is growing what appear to be deku nuts. If you shoot the nuts with an arrow, the tree will drop an assortment of things ranging from magic bottles to 20 rupees. Rolling into the trees in Hyrule Field and having them drop rupees/hearts is pretty common knowledge, but I'd never seen this secret before.
Anyone else find some cool things like this that most people may not know of?
Edit: forgot to mention a few things. One, unlike the hearts/rupees that fall out other trees when you roll into them, for some strange reason, when you shoot the nuts on these palm trees, you hear the little jingle that plays when you pick an item up, even though you haven't picked the item up yet. That leads me to believe that this is a very intentionally well-hidden easter egg that they didn't expect people to find. Another odd thing is, it seems as though if you hit the tree, but not the nut, the secret won't work until you reload the area. So if you're going to try it, make sure you hit the nut on your first hit.
