Created at the beginning of the Age of Enlightenment by the Supreme Mistress of Magic herself, The Academy selects from the world's most elite mages every year, making them go through advanced magic, alchemy, theoretical and physical training of all kinds. Despite its prestige, the Mistress had the kindness to make her school widely accessible to all - as long as you have the talents, of course. Most of the students don't even pass the first year. But you are different. You are the protege of your village's greatest mage. You never thought you'd go anywhere near The Academy, having naturally assumed that personal tutelage from the mage would have been sufficient. But no.
