Losing Resources due to tax

Hi! I'm clueless about what happens to the tax after a character fails a Resources roll and gets its exponent depleted by 1.

A similar question's been asked in the link. What I don't get is that then, if you get your resources depleted by 1, your efective resources will be 0. By the rules, that's the moment when your exponent is reduced by 1, so it would trigger again the exponent depletion, and that doesn't make sense. Nor makes sense to have a character with R. exponent of 2 and 2 taxed dice not being able to roll at all. I don't know, if that's how the rules are intended to work, I'd at least expect a warning or clarification in the book or in the Burning Codex.

What I'd do when resources are depleted by 1 is to also erase 1 tax dice. That way, the efective resources after depletion is 1, which makes more sense (3 R. exponent, after 3d tax, would lead to 2R exponent and 1d tax). Another posibility would be to clean all tax after depletion, as it works for nature in Mouse Guard.
