The lesser Wilder films that did not age so well.

Now don't get me wrong. I love Wilder, he is my favorite director, but I have to admit that looking back on some of his films there is a a bit of a dodging vibe in them regard sex and women. Rewatching major and the minor (god that name always cracks me up) love in the afternoon, and particularly kiss me stupid, wilder shows off some really questionable characters, and not always in a bad light.

The cadet that attempts to molest the protagonist in M&M basically just gets a "ohhhh you!" And that's that.

Love in the afternoon shows a rich sex addict that ignores "no" multiple times (and Hepburn is shown to be swooned by it)

And Jesus, kiss me stupid basically shows a rape scene, and then plays it off as no real big deal. No seriously, dean Martin in the trailer looks like he is going to rape her. (Full honesty this is my least favorite of his films, largely for this scene).

Front page has a little tiny bit of this in it as well, (especially when you compare it to the original) but it never lingers on it too long.

Now, the apartment has a lot of this sexist attitude and sketchy attitude toward women as well, don't get me wrong, but for the most part it satirizes it and portraits it in a definitive bad light, which makes it work with the film

What do you all think? Wilder films are my favorite because they usually can tie up a good ending, and historically pushes the limits, but some on the other hand, just don't age well, artistically wise.

Edit: I'm not saying these films are bad because of the sexism per se, but that his lesser films have a good bit of it.
