One lane bridges - Second in line, follow or wait?

I know the rule for which car goes first when there's one car on each side. But I haven't been able to find any guidance on what you're supposed to do when there's more than one car. Is it supposed to be one car crosses at a time, alternating directions, like stop sign? Or do all of the cars on one side cross before the other direction crosses?
