Shot a missile, killing Marcy Long and Mama Murphy (100% completely accidental), ran away and haven't been back to Sanctuary in over a month. Can I ever go back without getting murdered?

I saw they were both dead and Preston and his gang came after me. I noped the fuck outta there and eventually fast travelled to Diamond City once I was out of their perimeter. I haven't been back to Sanctuary in over a month, but I have a new idea for the settlement but I'm pretty sure they'll still be hostile. I'd rather not kill 'em because I'm in a relationship with Piper and I don't want to send her away while I shoot the place up because I'm trying to do a no meta gaming playthrough. Will they eventually forget?
