My honest thoughts on Apothicons, Monty, and the story + Interesting Richtofen quote on Moon!

When you pick up the Hacker, he says something like "The Vril shall reveal to me their secrets!". That's awesome. I love conspiracies, myths, things that "are too unnatural to be true... or maybe not?"

I just love when stories always have a connection. Like, I don't like it when it flies off in a wild direction, but rather always have a connection to the start. I always loved the conspiraries/theories the story is based on, from Vril and Agartha, to Nazi experiments, Aether, etc., And I've recently gone from not liking the Apothicons at all, to respecting them a LOT more. At first they seemed like random aliens who suddenly are here and suddenly are important in the story. Therefore, I couldn't take them as seriously as the mysterious conspiracies and myths from WaW-BO2. But looking at the connections, I suddenly like them a lot more: They talked to Richtofen in WaW-Bo1, they are basically demons from hell (Dark Aether), octopus DNA is theorized to be alien in real life, their resemplence and possible connections to Nova Crawlers, etc.

The ONLY thing I don't like... is Monty. Gosh I hope I get proven wrong like I've been with the Apothicons. He's suddenly here. Steps in when he "feels like it" with godlike powers who can just wipe people from existence when he wants to. He's apparently an ancient being from looong ago from this mysterious race of the Keepers/Vril-Y, but has the appearence of an old man, is called DOCTOR Monty, speaks with a sarcastic, modern language and breaks the 4th wall (talks about apps for gods sake, and even the map descriptions are canon and made by him... what?!). To me he just makes the story less...serious. He's suddenly here as an ancient, yet joking old man who acts like "Yeah fuck you guys, I make apps and knows everything. So now, listen for radios, and I'm the one who teleported perks to you btw. But I only do stuff when I feel like it. Shit, right?". If there is a good reason why he's here, why he is and talks the way he does, I might look at him completely differently. If he actually was a real modern doctor (maybe for Broken Arrow who got teleported to the Aether through an experiment) I'd appreciate and accept him a lot more. But for the time being, I'm NOT a fan of him at all.
