What is with all the RMTs

Look, I know you guys are fans, but the RMTs is something that's put me off fighting games. Injustice 2 released and currently it has a season pass, that's it. I bought SFV on release and was disgusted by it's lack of content, I think I even got the season pass with it, logged in today, and wow. 2 season passes, a pro tour, a character costume etc...and more ingame purchases for a thousand costumes at 4 bucks a pop. I don't mind making one purchase to get everything in a bundle, but is that even possible? RMTs are a cancer in the gaming community unless their done fairly, which, this is not. Fan or not, how can this be defended? Is this just the norm for fighting games? Is there a single bundle where I can get everything? If not, why not? Do you guys really think this is fine?
