What's up with this anti-Naomi circle jerk?

Everywhere I see on this sub, Naomi is getting blasted on, and the reasoning doesn't make sense. "She's a bad promo", Can you name 3 female baby faces that are consistently a good promo? A lot of you will say Becky, but "come at me bro" is just as cringe as "imma snatch you bald". Some are mad at her ring work especially her signatures, but that doesn't hold up since the most pushed female on the roster right now Alexa Bliss uses a DDT as a finisher(a bad version of one at that). If you don't like Naomi fine, but don't come up with bs reasons that hold true to the entire female roster including Lana who most of you want to win at MITB even though she has wrestled like 3 matches. You guys say her entrance is the only reason she gets pops, but disregard the fact that Bobby Roode and Nakamura are over because of their entrances

They both happen to be great wrestlers who are both very charismatic.

Bobby Roode is a fantastic worker, that Hideo match proved it too. He was fantastic in that match IMO, his best match so far in NXT.

Maybe it's not the only reason since Roode and Nakamura both had successful careers before NXT, but it's definitely a big reason

What has Nakamura done on the main roster so far other than prove he isn't good enough at English yet to properly give a promo yet and wrestle ok matches? Not much, but it doesn't stop people from chanting his song because it is amazing

He hasn't had an opportunity to show what he is capable of, the Ziggler match was a bad showcase of his talents and this isn't his fault

Nakamura's entrance theme is certainly one of his most notable aspects of his character but it doesn't influence where he is on the card and more or less what people think of him

Naomi's...OK. She has some strengths and some big weaknesses. I agree that she’s not worth hating. When booked right she’s a perfectly likable babyface. I enjoyed her Wrestlemania moment this year. But I also think that she’s like the 5th(maybe 4th) best woman on the Smackdown roster right now. I think pointing that out is reasonable.

This about sums up my feelings on her as well. I also don't have any problem with the title being used to get Naomi over right now because while she is still growing into her character she needs the title to make her both more interesting and more credible.

Wasn't the twisted bliss her half rotation splash? I wouldn't say it's amazing. It looked like she really wanted an aerial finisher but cannot pull off the usual high flying moves so she settled on that.

It's a weak and un-original move. I dislike the fact that Ambrose does it, but unlike Bliss he is the same size or bigger than most of his opponents

Most folks finishers are unoriginal and the DDT is a move that slams your opponents head right into the ground. It's anything but weak.

  • Has never had a good match.

  • Her offense is atrocious

  • No psychology

  • Bad on promos

All really inexcusable for how long she's been in the wrestling business.

I thought her match vs Charlotte on Smackdown a few weeks back was good considering they were probably saving bigger spots for a PPV, and saying she hasn't had a good match isn't really fair since her career so far has been a mixture of tag team matches and short singles feuds before this title run. Other women on the roster have bad offense and bad promos, but they aren't getting shitted on non-stop

I would have to disagree, Alexa maybe a ok worker but her matches aren't really that good, and she isn't really that better on the Mic then Naomi, she has more of a personality yes, but most of her "good mic" to me comes from having a good segment like the pedestal segment when she won the Raw's Women title. However without a good segment, meaning when she is just out "talking" her mic work doesn't seem worse or better than any else on the Woman Roster that's not Charlotte

Go back and watch the SD after Elimination Chamber to see how much better Alexa is on the mic than Naomi.

And are you saying Charlotte is better? Because Talking Smack proves that's not the case, Alexa flourished in that setting, Charlotte continually struggles. Also there was those times where Charlotte gets flustered by the crowd, Alexa doesnt.

Yeah, Alexa's matches aren't good generally but she's had good matches with people who are really fucking good like Bayley and Becky Lynch.

That at least shows some progression, even she was noticeably carried.

Also, Becky's use of the phrase "come at me bro" was completely tongue-in-cheek. She's an Irish person using an American phrase to take the piss out of her opponent. It's pure Irish roguery.

I just think Naomi is corny and not really all that good on the mic or in the ring. There are multiple people that are way better at it. I don't mind a ton, she's attractive and athletic, but having her be champ is kinda meh for me. She's just kinda corny and cringey to me

Snatch you bald isn't why Naomi was getting shitted on last night. The jeopardy song and her terrible fake laughing is what did her in for me. Crowd cheering for Lana didn't help.

I honestly enjoy Naomi but I can understand why people may not like her. And Becky is a better promo then every other woman besides Alexa. Becky at least doesn't sound robotic when she talks, regardless of her catchphrases

First off, it's not a circlejerk just because you disagree. Ordering a Pepsi is not part of an anti-Coke circlejerk.

And it's not just that she's a bad promo, has little to offer in the ring other than a few explosive moves that make for a good hot tag sequence, uses annoying catchphrases, and has basically no character. It's that she's been around forever and is still at that same level. Put the belt on her and you are aiming a huge spotlight at all those flaws. If Tamina or Natalya or Carmella had the belt right now there would be just as many posts about their flaws.

Well, the points have already been made, but Roode and Nakamura aren't just over for their entrances. Also, her move set does suck. Just because Bliss has a DDT that doesn't mean her move set is crap. Like I said before, Naomi's rapid fire kicks are probably the worst move I've ever seen.

Plus, you're right that other women are crap on the mic, but that doesn't mean that Naomi isn't crap on the mic herself

Naomi is not great, but for some reason every single fault she has is magnified. While other female wrestlers have theirs protected. Its very strange.

Maybe its because she is from the "diva" era, maybe its because she is black, maybe its because she beat Alexa for the title, maybe its because she isn't an indy darling. I dont know, could be a mixture of all those things. But people seriously have it out for her.

Becky by a wide margin. I think Becky is the best female talker on RAW or SDL. Some people think Alexa is and they are entitled to their opinions.

Becky is one of the few great babyface promos they have, male or female. It's pretty much her, Zayn, Ambrose, Cena when he's around...not many come to mind. Besides that we're stuck with like, Crews or Kalisto.

Both were criticized a whole fucking lot on here. Bayley has always been getting some flak for her promo skills, but at least that awkward delivery played into her character in NXT where she at least got some good material to work with and had more time to practice, but the shit she gets handed on the MR is atrocious in its own right.

Sasha was a decent/good heel-promo in NXT, but has been criticized pretty much from the get go when she turned face.
