Welcome to the AoG AMA! The Assemblies of God was founded in 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas with 300 people at the founding convention. Today there are 13,023 churches in the U.S. with over 3 million members and adherents. There are more than 67 million Assemblies of God members worldwide, making the Assemblies of God the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination.

This year's team:

Hey everyone! I'm u/gremtengames and I am an ordained Assemblies of God pastor in a church plant in Pennsylvania with a M.A. in Theology and a B.S. in Church Ministries from Southwestern Assemblies of God university. I have a pretty varied church background coming from a family that is mainly unaffiliated. I was first really exposed to Christianity at a Catholic middle school that my family sent me to in hopes that I would get beat up less there than at the local public middle school and had some amazing teachers there. I came to faith in Jesus when I was 15 at a local Episcopal church camp and then attended a ELCA Lutheran church for several years. I sort of fell in with a youth group at a Charismatic after that and attended church there and later came on staff as an intern. Following that I responded to a call to the ministry by attending Christ for the Nations Institute and later completed my other two degrees while working in the local church. I've been married for 10 years and love what I do.

I'm also a bit of a rogue in my denomination because of my love of liturgy and because I actually read and consider the works of the Early Church Fathers. My church is low church, but has many liturgical elements and does communion weekly which is very different for my particular side of Christianity (and I'm sneaking more in as I can get away with it).

Hello, I'm u/CPS_at_the_door and I'm a 25 year old guy living in the great and confused state of New York. I've been involved with my local AG church for almost six years, beginning shortly after God saved me when I was 20. I was not raised a Christian but God reached me through a group of students at my college who loved me and shared the gospel with me. I've been involved with a local college ministry (sponsored by my church) as well as church small groups in a leading/teaching/serving capacity. I'm also on the church's worship team. I used to work for my county's Child Protective Services; I have since changed careers but I kept the username because I like it. I am currently studying to receive my ministry credentials and hope to one day plant a church! I enjoy golf, tennis, apologetics, alternate history novels, and cooking. Unlike my esteemed colleague, I am not married, which probably gives me more time to enjoy the above (especially golf).

Ask us anything! u/gremtengames will be available during the earlier portion and I will be available later on. We will attempt to answer all questions but since there are only two of us it may take some time. Thanks for your patience :)
