EDIT 2: You will all be tagged in every post from here on out. The next post will be tomorrow when I wake up, in which I will make the draw for the teams, as well as the draw for the first round.

If this tournament fails to get at least 16 sign ups, then it will just be cancelled. I wanted to try and do this to get the community more engaged with each other and do more fun things. I am open to suggestions for events the subreddit could host in the future if tournaments do not garner enough popularity.

Please read the following rules and regulations before filling out the registration form. I will have no sympathy for you if you are removed from the tournament because you failed to read the rules. These rules and regulations may change for future tournaments:

######Format

• The tournament is a 16-team knockout tournament. If enough people sign up, it will be expanded to 32 teams. Places will be confirmed on a first-come, first-serve basis, meaning the first 16 people will be accepted - or first 32 if enough people sign up.

• Teams will be randomly assigned to you. This will be your team for the remainder of the tournament. Teams will then be randomly drawn against each other to decide each fixture. All of this will be done on video so you can see that there is no foul play. The teams that are used in the tournament will be the top 16/32 teams from around the world.

• Assuming we get enough sign ups, the tournament first round will be held this week, and the rest of the tournament played throughout the week. How long the tournament lasts completely depends on how quickly you all organise and play your matches.

• You will have approximately 24 hours in order to play your match.

• Each round is played over a single leg, using extra time + penalties as shown in this screenshot. The team on the left side of the draw will be the team that plays at home. For example, in a Barcelona vs Chelsea match, Barcelona will be the home team. The semi-final and final will be played over two legs (90 minutes only). If the score is the same after two legs, the team with the most away goals will win. If both teams scored the same amount of away goals, a playoff match will be played using extra time + penalties. The home team for the playoff match will be decided by coin toss. Message me with proof of both players' heads/tails choices on Reddit and I will do the coin toss for you and send you the results. I may not be able to respond for many hours, so please assume that playoff matches will need to be rescheduled. If the playoff match needs to be rescheduled, I will allocate you more time past the original 24 hours in order to reschedule and play the match.

• No transfers are to be made during games. You are to play with the squad that is available in the default database. No exceptions.

######Messaging your opponent

• Please communicate through Steam using the Friends chat. Link your steam profile to your opponent so that they can add you.

• You and your opponent are to organise a time to play your match. You will have approximately 24 hours to play your matches. If you cannot play your game as your opponent is not responding to you, please take a screenshot of the messages you have sent, and PM me. If you can prove you have made an effort to message your opponent, then you will be put through to the next round.

######Setting up the game

• You cannot import tactics, you must show your skill and create your own. Please set up the gameplay preferences exactly as they are shown in this screenshot. The password, and replay/highlight modes/speeds should be decided between you and your opponent BEFORE setting up the game.

• Only load the leagues that contain the teams of both players. If the match is Barcelona vs Chelsea, then only load La Liga and the Premier League. This helps people who do not have good computers. Player counts should be kept below 10,000 players.

• All games must be played with no editor data whatsoever selected. Games must also be played on the latest patch.

• Once you are in the game, make sure you cancel all pre-existing friendlies the club has scheduled. You may not be able to cancel some friendlies. Also, go in to your staff responsibilities, and ensure that you are in control of arranging friendly matches, and not your assistant manager. Schedule a friendly match with your opponent as soon as possible. You can schedule the friendly match on whatever date that you and your opponent agree on, but ideally you want to play the friendly match before any other friendly games are played to avoid injuries and ensure your players are at 100% condition. If an important player gets injured, the save should be restarted. After finishing the match, you will need to start a new save, as the board will stop you from playing friendly matches with each other right away.

######After the match

• Both players must notify me of the score after a match has finished.

• If you feel that your opponent has cheated, please message me. However, you must have solid proof. If you cannot prove they cheated, I can and will do nothing.

• If you do not respond to your opponent to organise a time to play your match, you will be banned for future tournaments.
