Apparently, JP version's Athena wants to be your wife (FE12 support conversation spoilers)

So, I not yet actually played through FE12 with a male My Unit, nor did I get all the supports, so I was surprised when I heard one of Athena's poke lines in the Japanese version.

「お礼にお前の嫁になる」 "As thanks, I'll become your wife/bride."

This is a reference to FE12's line:

「アテナ、お礼に（マイユニット）の嫁になる。」, or "Athena, as thanks, will become [my unit]'s wife/bride.

The English version of FEH has nothing in its poking lines, but the closest it gets to addressing this is in Athena's lv 40 confession:

"Now, final word we have learned. We are your, how do you say again...? Woman? Wait, no. Friend. We are your friend. And we hope to learn many more words from you."

For comparison, the Japanese says pretty much the same thing:

「だからアテナ、お前の女になる。…違う？お前の友になる。もっといっぱい、色々教えて欲しい。」 (Thus, Athena will become your woman. Something else? Your friend. Still want to be taught a lot.)

These are all references to that support conversation. The wiki does a pretty good job of translating it, so I'll link to that as well as to the original Japanese.

Athena: As thanks, ve vill become your bride.

[Avatar]: Wha...!? M-Miss Athena... It seems you used the wrong word again.

Athena: Vat? Ve are mistaken? Then... Ve vill become [Avatar]'s voman?

[Avatar]: That's even wronger! Er... I don't know what kind of thanks you had in mind. But it's fine. I've already received enough.

Anyway, I wonder if this changes anyone's opinion on Athena. I thought it was interesting, personally.
