Is it possible to choose who on telegram you want notifactions on?

I like the idea of telegram, but often I join some group to get updates from the maker of the telegram, for example a youtuber I like and what to have updates when he writes, I am not interested in all the small talks and jibber from other users. Is it possible to get notifications just when this person posts a message or even filter out all other messages?
