Avoiding Female BS at Every Turn (e.g. Patriarchy? What Patriarchy?)

Moved to a new city. Somehow, after a month of job-searching, my white male privilege has yet to land me a job. So this morning I take the train to meet a industry contact for coffee downtown to keep a foot in the door, so to speak. The subway was packed, standing room only, and somehow an annoying white soccer mom took center stage, raising two bratty sons in front of a captive audience. At the next stop, a seat opened up and everyone (including myself) let the mother have it. Another two seats happened to open up on the other side, and I took one. A minute later, one of the bratty sons decided the empty spot next to me is for him. So soccer mom switched sides and waited expectantly for me to give up my spot as well. Instead, I decided not to budge.

Soccer mom hovered over seat-switching son #1 while holding bratty son #2, who squirmed in her arms, demanding a seat. Another woman offered her seat, but soccer mom declined . . . "sorry, there's only one seat he wants" she said passive-aggressively while staring into my reflector shades. Funny how she projected her desire onto her bratty son . . . he made no specification of which seat he wanted and would've happily taken the one being offered. The next stop came along, and 8 spots opened up, but instead of moving her family to the large number of available seats, soccer mom stared me down and asked me to move my seat. I complied and slide one seat down as the path of least resistance, but at that point bratty son #2 was insistent on not sitting in any spot, so they stayed put. I watched in relief as they all get off on the next stop.

After my meeting, I needed some lunch. I pulled up a bar stool and placed an order with a female bartender. A different female bartender came up and asked me how I'm doing. "Doing great, how are you?" She gives me a "you idiot, what do you want to drink" look, to which I responded "she's got my drink order but I'll take a menu, please." In the meantime, I heard her colleague condescending to a different guy at the bar for ordering a burger with lettuce instead of a bun. Really? Is it that unheard of in 2017?

Neither female bartender checked in on my drink or asked what I wanted to order after having received the menu, and I realized that this was one of those watering holes where the blue collar patrons drool over their female overlord bartenders who take their money and treat them like shit, so I paid for my drink and went to the bar next door instead.

Bar next door: male bartender. Cool guy. Somehow he was able to take my (exact same) drink order without being a cunt about it. Dude sitting next to me at the bar . . . cool dude. Then what happened? Imagine this . . . a handful of normal cool dudes shot the shit and had an enjoyable social interaction, everyone content in their roles (customer, proprietor, fellow barfly) and happy for the exchange. No condescension, no passive aggressiveness, no bullshit. A few drinks later, all off on our own paths.

None of these interactions had anything to do with sex, per se. No behavior in any of these situations would have resulted in me having sex. But in the first two, the fact that sex could physically be possible among the people in the interaction resulted in far worse treatment for myself, despite my motivations having nothing to do with sex.

Women like to complain of a hostile work environment, but my experience is that the presence of females creates a hostile environment, period. To the extent white males have privilege, it pales in comparison with the privilege of white females, whom are the most entitled people on planet earth. "The juice isn't worth the squeeze."

Patriarchy? Bitch, please.
