Advice needed! Worth getting a new lens? If so, which one of these?
Hi Everyone,
I'd like to get a new lens, and whilst I've narrowed it down, I am still unsure of which one to get, as they both serve to different kinds of shots which I enjoy.
Camera: Canon 1100d
Canon EF-S 24 mm f/2.8 STM: I've been enjoying taking lanscape shots, and I am looking into getting a wide angle lens, as right now I am just using my 18-55 kit lens. Would the crop factor really get in the way of getting a nice wide angle? Or is the kit lens at 18mm good enough?
or
Canon EF 50 mm 1.8 STM: I keep hearing great things about the nifty fifty, and as I am doing more and more photography as part of my work (portraits, events, product etc), this is really starting to tempt me, and at this price, it's even more tempting. The thing is, again, would the crop factor of my camera really get in the way and make portraits and other shots too narrow? Would the kit lens suffice by setting it at 35mm?
Can either of these lenses be used on a full frame? (Should I make the investment in the future / My work invests in a full frame)
Any advice welcome! Thanks!
