Transmission Issues

I got in my car today and it wouldn't let me shift into any gear with the clutch in. It started up fine in neutral but when I put it into gear when it was off it wouldn't start. It was fine last night driving home but I couldn't leave my garage this morning. Do I need a new clutch? I bought it used with 24,100 miles, now at 25,400. I have no other experience with manuals so I don't know what I should be looking for (I learned on this car which could contribute to the problem).

Edit: I drove through some big puddles of water from a downpour last night, the water poured out on the tow truck and it worked again
