[Sun Care] Which of these is the better daily sunscreen?
I am on a quest to find a daily sunscreen that will offer me the best protection. I need something that will protect me as long as possible on work days, because reapplying sunscreen isn't an option for me as I work handling food. My work does not allow us to use lotions of any kind because they might contaminate work surfaces that the food might touch. This is my dilemma, I want to have proper UVA/UVB protection as well as follow the rules at my work. These are the sunscreens I have been looking into:
-
La Roche-Posay Anthelios SX Daily Moisturizing Cream with Sunscreen - This one has Mexoryl as a UVA filter, but it is only SPF 15. I've heard that Mexoryl takes longer to degrade so I thought this would be a good option.
-
Anthelios Cooling SPF 60 Sunscreen This one offers much higher SPF protection but is made with avobenzone as a UVA filter which degrades quickly. I also wear foundation daily, which I've heard causes avobenzone to degrade even faster.
My question is, which sunscreen will offer me better protection? I work indoors all day and spend less than 5 minutes outdoors every day during the summer months, so I'm getting very little direct sun exposure. Would SPF 15 be enough without reapplication if it has Mexoryl? Or should I just go with the higher SPF but not be able to reapply?
