Tips On How to Prevent "Smudging"

Hi all, I recently started coloring (specific color-by-numbers). When I color a page, if I go back in the book and color a page that is on top of one that I previously colored, it always smudges onto the page on top of it.

Any way to prevent this, other than just putting a sheet of paper between?
