Question about CCU's and when the game goes live

So how I understand it when the game goes live all ships not purchased with real cash will be melted and you will start the game with whatever you purchased with real money. So what would happen to a ship you bought with real money then applied a CCU with in game currency (whenever it is that that feature is implemented) on the pre live ship wipe. Would they all just be reverted to the base ship they got upgraded from?

Some side notes/thoughts: What would happen if you upgrade the purchased ship with in game currency then apply a real money upgrade to that ship?

What would stop someone from upgrading a cheap ship with in game currency then gifting/selling it as the expensive version?
