Booster or Compressor for Cello

Hey Guys!

been following this sub quite a while now! I'm a cellist and i'm slowly finding my way into the world of pedals, which is very cool! All the possibilities...

I play in several bands, some are more acoustic, but others are straight out punk/freeimprov or soul/groove stuff. Especially for the "louder" bands I don't have the loudness I want; part of of volume, part of of timbre of the cello which is not as present as a saxophone or a guitar!

So I was thinking about getting a booster OR a compressor pedal...I'm not sure which one is more useful in my situation and I wanted to hear your two cents about this topic! Very open for recommendations!!! I use a schertler pickup with a schertler preamp, if anyone wants to know or needs the info!
