Any OTs with lactation support background?
Hiya! I'm an IBCLC working in an L&D with a Level II NICU and recently attended a feeding assessment training where the other attendees were PTs, OTs, and SLPs. I was literally the only LC there! I have been trying to figure out the best graduate path to fulfill my career goals. Whilst at the training, the OTs were very helpful and really encouraged me to look more into OT infant oral therapy pathways. I wish to only work with infant feeding issues but not necessarily contained to breastfeeding. I think that breastfeeding would continue to be a focus but would love to work with just infant feeding in general. In a quick research, it seemed that OT was more interesting to me than SLP... which brings me here!
I'm just curious if anyone here has a background as starting in lactation support and could help me find advisory resources. I'm having a really hard time finding someone that can give me insight to this specific situation.
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated!
