Fatal Error on Alt-Tab

Anyone else have issues with the game crashing on Alt-Tab (or any sort of de-focus)? I just started streaming again after a long time and I basically have to make sure I'm done interacting with OBS or the rest of my system before I start or it'll die.

I get a FATAL ERROR message that pops up, similar to this post from a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/spelunky/comments/3vljg7/fatal_error/

I tried disabling Nvidia overlay stuff as mentioned in there but it didn't seem to make any difference. Thoughts?
