Skipped period on Paraguard (copper iud)

So, I've had my Paraguard for 7 months now, after going off 3 years on hormonal birth control pills. Everything has been going okay until about 2 months ago, where I completely stopped having a period. I spot randomly throughout the month (or recently for the past two weeks straight). And no cramping besides a slight pinch on my left side, where I think my ovulary is. I have checked my strings frequently, and they have no moved or changed since insertion of my Paraguard. I just bought some pregnancy tests in the mail, since I had expired ones from 2015 (even though I used them and it came out negative). I'm going to do a test tomorrow morning, since I've heard it's more accurate based on hormone levels... or something like that. Although, I am not experiencing any pregnancy symptoms so far.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this problem with the nonhormonal iud.

Also, I'd like to use the doctors as a last resort. I have insurance, but I still can't afford to pay $100 + every trip for the doctors fees and pregnancy tests they make me do every time I go in. Like, I was trying to save $20 bucks and not do a pregnancy test, and they tricked me into doing one anyway later. I'm not a fan of doctors unless I really need them.
