Instagram Account Hacked Name Changed. Trying to not lose my Instagram name.

My Instagram account was hacked and all contact info changed, currently reported it to IG that it was hacked.

I however don't want to lose my IG username, since it is my name. Should I create a new account with my old username, and once my account is recovered delete the account with my old username?
