One thing I appreciated from OhNatural
I saw something about ear piercing and it triggered a memory. My dad's mom (a justno herself) for the longest time wanted to take me to get my ears pierced.
I begged my OhNatural for a long time to let me get my ears pierced with my grandma but she would say no. She would not let me until I learned to take care of my own hair. I was at the age where she was still brushing my hair (and that sucked). I have curly hair and when I was little it went to my mid back. I hated getting my hair brushed in between my showers because it hurt.
So I learned, I figured out that I had to have conditioner in to brush. It became so much easier. I didn't dread combing my hair anymore though I still hated it since it was so long.
My grandma pressured more and OhNatural caved. I got my ears pierced and was told they were my complete responsibility.
I do however wish that OhNatural discovered curly hair products sooner, oh god the frizz.
Much to my dad's horror actually I chopped my hair off about three years ago and went back to a pixie cut last summer after my wedding. I'm growing it out now.
My hair is the main reason people seem to say I look alike. Here's to hoping I age better than her! I mean I should since nc means I don't have to deal with her bs and stress.
